Easter Eggstravaganza

Today at New Covenant Church we had an Easter Eggstravaganza!  An opportunity for the kids to get together with their friends and understand the real meaning of Easter … Candy!  Just kidding.  But it was a lot of fun for everyone.

The only one that did NOT have a good time was Luke, who is and has been under the weather for a couple of days.

But he rolled off the couch and did join us, although he spent most of the morning on Kelly’s lap.

We registered at the information table…

… and spent a little quality time with Pastor Randy.

There were plenty of games to play.

Time spent with friends.

Some were observers … for at least some of the morning.

What would an Easter Eggstravagaza be without an Easter egg hunt?

And the opportunity to examine your loot at the end.

Here is a short video, mainly of our kids, but a few extras thrown in.

It is now ONE WEEK until we leave for China!  Much to be done in a very short period of time.  Remember to follow us here:

as that is where we will detail out trip.  Continue to pray for Kelly and myself, Caleb and Ali who will be traveling with us, Katelyn, Charlie, & Ashley, and all the kids and grandparents that will be left here at home.  Exciting things are happening.

A girl and her horse

Friends of ours are pastors at Jacob’s Well Church just outside of Dayton and the church has an equestrian ministry called Hilltop Equestrian:

They offer several different programs free of charge, including equitherapy sessions. Our friends told us about this months ago, not long after we returned from China with Leah, but there is a long waiting list. This spring a spot finally opened up and Leah began sessions a couple of weeks ago.

Every Monday night Leah gets on her horse, Felicity, and works on various skills.

Some of the exercises really help Leah with strengthening her core.

It has been a blessing to see how much joy that Leah is receiving from the time spent by these wonderful volunteers.  I think it gives Leah a sense of freedom that she doesn’t usually feel.

God continues to bless our family with opportunities that enrich the experiences of our children.  And He continues to bring people into our life that provide love and support for our family.

We will be traveling to China soon to adopt Charlie, Ashley, and Katelyn.  We will be posting updates on:

Follow along with us and continue to pray for us as we travel and for those that we will leave at home while we are away.
