Kelly and I met at Oral Roberts University in the fall of 1987, she an incoming freshman and me a big time senior. While I was smitten with her, she wasn’t so much with me. It took me awhile to win her over, but on December 27, 1991, we were married in Dayton, Ohio. Not long after we had our first child, Zachary. Then Jacob. Then Nicholas, Brittany, Maxwell, and Luke.
In early 2006 I had an epiphany. A friend of mine was adopting a girl from China and I wondered if that was something that Kelly would be interested in pursuing? It was, and in October, 2007, we brought home a beautiful little girl from Vietnam named Mia. Then, a boy from China in 2010. Then a girl from China in 2011. Three girls from China in 2013 and two girls and one boy in 2015. We added two more girls in late 2016.
God has richly blessed our family with lots of children and love. Our family consists of:
- Eight males and eleven females
- Seven people born in the United States and twelve born outside the United States
- Five biological boys and one biological girl
- Nine adopted girls and two adopted boys
